The focus of the annual Bal d’Argent is a grand ball which includes medieval and renaissance dances. These are mostly social dances which anyone can join in, with some competition or display dances.

The ball is usually preceeded by an afternoon of dance classes at various levels.

Besides the dance classes and the Ball itself, a meeting of the members of the guild is held to discuss issues relevant to the guild. Topic usually include:

  • New candidates for membership
  • Competitions for dancers & musicians for the following year’s Bal
  • Election of Guild Officers for the following year (Secreatary, Webwright, Communications)

At some stage before or during the Grand Ball new candidates are tested, and then during a break in the proceedings, new members of the guild are welcomed and the competition prizes are awarded.
