Proposed Charter Updates
As announced in Pegasus September, AS LX (2025) Vol. 44:5, the Guild of the Silver Rondel proposes changes to Articles II and III of its Charter.
If you have at any time be admitted to the Guild, whether for dance or for music, you have a month to make comment on, either for or against, these changes. Please send any comments directly to the Guild Secretary, Baroness Medb ingen ind lasachta, at rondel@lochac.sca.org

ARTICLE II – Standards proposed update to:-
(a) Fields
All members of the Guild shall, at the time of their admission as a companion, be able to competently perform, or competently perform music for, an example of seven of the following dance types. Members who have been admitted on the basis of their ability in either dance or play dance music may request recognition in the other field as well, if they are able to meet the Guild’s standards in that field.
- Basse Dance
- Pavanne
- Galliard/Tourdion
- Allemande
- Bransle (as a set of at least three such dances)
- Country Dance
- 15thC Italian
- 16thC Italian
- Any other dance indicative of a style not already given.
Competence may be determined by any member of the Guild who has been admitted to the Guild in the same field – dancing members for dance, musician members for music (except for the purpose of Article IV (c) Exceptions).
(b) Competence
In the field of dance competence is defined as the ability to perform the dance correctly and confidently, without prompting.
In the field of music competence is defined as the ability to perform well, confidently and at an appropriate tempo, a line of the piece that is usable by dancers.
ARTICLE III – Meetings proposed update to:-
(a) Scheduling
Having the need to consider applicants and administrative matters, regular meetings of the Guild shall be convened at any time during the year.
Meetings of the Guild may be held at Kingdom events, at the Bal d’Argent, or at such times as are required by its members.
(b) Attendance
Attendance at any meeting shall not be compulsory. There shall be a requirement that at least three members be present to conduct the business of the Guild at such meetings.
